Four detailed case studies showing how I move from complex problems to shipped solutions — across blockchain, fintech, EdTech, and social impact.
A well-funded GCC startup needed a payment platform that let users pay merchants in crypto while merchants received fiat — instantly, across seven blockchains, with full compliance. The technical complexity was enormous, and the client needed a clear, phased plan to secure investor confidence.
I developed a comprehensive milestone-based proposal valued at $250K–$307K. I mapped the full system architecture — integrating Fireblocks for custody, Binance Convert API for liquidity, and a double-entry ledger system ensuring auditability across seven chains. I then broke the project into 6 clear milestones with deliverables, timelines, and resource plans, and presented directly to founders.
The proposal was approved and the architecture became the project's blueprint. The client moved forward with funding, and the project is now in active development with a team I helped assemble. The phased plan reduced stakeholder anxiety and gave the engineering team a precise roadmap.
The client had invested in an MVP built on Laravel and MySQL to tokenize property assets. It was rigid, couldn't scale to handle complex smart contract interactions, and was architecturally misaligned with their growth plans. They needed an honest, actionable technical review before going further.
I conducted a full system audit: reviewing code structure, database design, and smart contract integration points. I wrote a detailed report highlighting where the existing stack would fail under real load, and then proposed a complete rebuild strategy using Node.js and MongoDB — far better suited for high-frequency blockchain transactions.
Register property ownership on-chain, transfer ownership between users, display transaction records or explorer links.
Show on-chain vs off-chain ownership status, track full ownership history and transaction records.
Review listings before on-chain registration, maintain blockchain activity records. (Panel non-functional at time of audit.)
Connect MetaMask wallet, link wallet address to user account for seamless Web3 interactions.
The founders adopted the rebuild plan. They avoided what would have been a costly, dead-end development path, and the new architecture is currently being implemented. My audit saved them an estimated six months of wasted effort and significant capital in rework costs.
Excelerate needed two structured, hands-on internship programs that would actually simulate real-world project management — not just theory. They lacked a repeatable template that interns and mentors could follow across cohorts. Programs had to be self-contained, deliverable-driven, and runnable within 4 weeks.
I led the end-to-end design of both programs from scratch — writing Team and Project Charters, structuring two distinct 4-week internship briefs with weekly deliverables, setting up Trello boards to mirror real Agile/Kanban workflows, and applying Scrum principles where each week was a sprint and each deliverable a working increment.

The programs became the official template Excelerate used to onboard future cohorts. Mentors reported that interns were immediately productive because expectations and processes were crystal clear. I proved I don't just do project management — I can package it into a teachable, scalable system.
"Kamikun Johnson has my highest recommendation... they demonstrated punctuality in meeting deadlines and completing tasks while adhering to guidelines and working in harmony with the team."
The cooperative had passionate members but zero project structure. Meetings were unstructured, tasks fell through, and member satisfaction was low — all with a tiny operating budget. They needed PMBOK-level discipline without PMBOK-level costs.
I implemented full PMBOK-aligned project systems using only free tools: Google Workspace for charters, risk registers, communication plans, and KPI tracking. I trained cooperative leaders on basic project control, ensuring every process was lightweight but disciplined. Later, I applied the same methodology to coordinate a free health fair serving 500+ community members.
Serve 500+ community members with 7+ categories of free medical services including ENT, mental health, vision, and preventive screenings.
Let's discuss how I can bring this kind of impact to your next project.
